Here's the "before." This is actually from before I bought the house, back last February:

Here's almost exactly the same view, today (quick, before I let the dogs loose to cause mayhem!):

I had to close the blinds for color balance. Here's one with the blinds open, a bit of detail:

It feels awfully good to have it done.

the lacy stuff is actually just privacy window film I got from Home Depot. It makes the dogs less likely to bark at squirrels ;-)

Oh, no, I waited until I was reasonably recovered before I started. I'm not crazy. ;-) (I still got a ton done, I'm happy with myself!)

It does make more sense, doesn't it? This house has very interesting structure, the paint that had been used did absolutely nothing for it, sadly.

As open as my little house can be :-) I can't take full credit for the color ideas, one of my former co-workers left to become an interior designer, she visited one day when I asked for suggestions, and she suggested going dark with that top area. I was initially scared, but it was so fun to do, and I really like how it turned out.
